Q. Why aren't there any Iowa State banners on the Elwood Drive light poles this time of year? We could use the color.
A: Iowa State officials would like to display banners during the winter months. However, the combination of wind, snow and ice creates a weather corridor along that stretch of Elwood Drive that is really hard on the banners. They simply won't last long in those conditions.
