"Mugging" nominations sought
by Diana Pounds
President Martin Jischke has created a new award that's intended to honor faculty and staff who perform extraordinarily well and make a real difference in the university. The honor is called informally "a mugging" because Jischke presents the honored individual with an engraved, limited edition university mug.
"Iowa State University is a great institution, in large part, because absolutely wonderful people come here to work and to make a real commitment to excellence," Jischke said. "This process is designed to recognize individuals, particularly those people who might not otherwise receive recognition for outstanding work."
Jischke is seeking nominations for the "mugging" award, which will be bestowed, on average, once a month.
More information about the award and an online nomination form is available from the president's office Web page (www.iastate.edu/~president). Nomination forms also can be obtained from the president's office, 4-2042.
