ISU welcomes new faculty

Iowa State welcomes 97 tenured and tenure-track faculty who have joined the university since Oct. 1, 1998 (70 percent of them arrived on campus this month). This year's class of "new" faculty includes 37 women and 60 men. Numerically, the new faculty joined these colleges:

Agriculture	15
Business	3
Design	6
Education	7
Engineering	18
Family and Consumer Sciences	7
Liberal Arts and Sciences	33
Library	3
Veterinary Medicine	3
Joint college appointment	2

Departments that hired four or more new faculty this year include art and design, curriculum and instruction, electrical and computer engineering, music, and philosophy and religious studies.
