Lots is new on digital viewbook
by Linda Charles
Faculty and administrative heads will receive a copy of the new "digital viewbook" through campus mail in early August. The new CD-ROM features 70 minutes of audio and video clips showcasing Iowa State and its students, plus the entire 1999-2001 undergraduate catalog.
It's being used by Admissions to recruit students for the Class of 2000 and in May was mailed to all new 1999 summer and fall semester students.
Originally created last year, the updated version features three ISU students who appear throughout the presentations to offer guidance and information. In all, there are 90 screens of information and photos.
Also new on the CD are 10 "feature" presentations on five of the undergraduate colleges plus sections on international students; oppor-tunities for honors/high ability students; minority students; orientation/new student days; and student affairs.
There also are 90 links to the Internet, including numerous ISU sites and the Ames homepage.
Work already has begun on a third generation of the CD and feedback from the campus community is sought. Comments should be directed to Sue Eveland, 314 Alumni, 4-6701, e-mail: smevela@iastate.edu; or Marc Harding, director of admissions, 100 Alumni, 4-5836, e-mail: mharding@iastate.edu.
