Q: Who can be buried in the ISU cemetery?
A: According to cemetery regulations established by the university, those who are interred there must have worked at Iowa State continuously for at least 20 years and:
- reached the rank of tenured assistant professor, or higher, or
- reached a P&S classification of P19 or P20.
An employee must have retired from Iowa State or died while still serving at Iowa State to be eligible for space in the ISU cemetery. Eligible employees' spouses and any unmarried children who have not established their own homes also may be buried in the cemetery.
A University Cemetery Committee rules on requests to inter individuals who aren't eligible based on these criteria.
