by Arianna McKinney, News Service intern
Ana Gasteyer of Saturday Night Live (SNL) will speak at 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, in the Memorial Union Sun Room.
On the television program, Gasteyer portrays such characters as Margaret Jo, co-host of the fictional National Public Radio show Delicious Dish; Bobbi Moughan-Culp, the musical middle school teacher; and Cinder Calhoun, a politically correct Lilith Fair stand-up comic.
Now in her third year on SNL, Gasteyer also is known for her impressions of Martha Stewart, Celine Dion and Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Prior to joining SNL, Gasteyer was a member of The Groundlings, the Los Angeles-based comedy group where former SNL cast members Laraine Newman, Phil Hartman and Jon Lovitz began.
A Washington, D.C., native, Gasteyer is a graduate of Northwestern University. Her other television credits include Seinfeld, Law and Order, Party of Five, NYPD Blue and Just Shoot Me.
