Brunnier closes Dec. 14 for wall repairs
The Brunnier Art Museum in the Scheman Building will be closed from Monday, Dec. 14, through Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, for wall repairs. It will reopen Tuesday, Jan. 12.
The $29,500 project will correct temperature and humidity problems in the museum space. Crews will add a vapor barrier and insulation and install new plywood and drywall. In the late 1970s, windows in Scheman were boarded over and wall carpet was installed. The worn wall carpet was removed last year.
"It's unfortunate that we have to be out of operation for that long," said museum director Lynnette Pohlman. "We felt it was best to be closed during the semester break."
