Tree lighting set for Dec. 2
Staff, faculty and students are invited to Iowa State's annual tree-lighting gathering, which will begin at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, in front of Beardshear Hall. President Martin Jischke will give brief remarks, and the Oratorio Chorus and Latin Chorus will perform.
Cookies and hot chocolate will be served outdoors. Following the tree lighting, there will be horse-drawn wagon rides around central campus and multicultural student groups will offer samples of their traditional holiday fare inside Beardshear Hall. ISU carilloneur Tin-shi Tam will play both before and after the tree lighting; visitors are welcome to join her in the campanile.
Again this year, the Farm House Museum and University Book Store will hold open houses into the evening.
