Death

Joe Christensen, associate professor of music and, since 1979, director of ISU bands, died Sept. 17 at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn., after undergoing a liver transplant a week earlier. He was 54. Christensen had been a member of the ISU faculty since 1973.

Funeral services were held Sept. 23 in Ames, with burial in the ISU cemetery. Memorial gifts may be sent to a fund set up in Christensen's name at the Iowa State University Foundation, Memorial Union.
