12-month pay plan now an option for ISU students

by Diana Pounds

ISU students have a new option for paying their university charges -- a 12-month installment plan. The plan allows students to pay fall and spring university charges in 12 monthly installments.

"With the addition of the 12-month payment plan, Iowa State now offers students three options for paying their university expenses," said Joan Thompson, university treasurer. "We wanted to provide students more flexibility, so they can select the payment plan that is most convenient for them."

Students who wish to enroll in the 12-month plan must complete an application and calculate a budget for the year. The budget may include tuition, room and board (in the residence halls) and other miscellaneous fees.

There is a $30 non-refundable enrollment fee for the 12-month plan. For more information or to enroll in the plan, students should contact the Receivables Office at 4-7388.

Iowa State also continues to offer two other payment plans for students -- a two-payment plan and a six-payment plan. Under the two-payment plan, students pay each semester's charges in full on specified due dates. Under the six-payment plan, students pay each semester's charges in three monthly installments with a $15 administrative charge each semester. Students who don't enroll in the 12-month plan or pay semester charges in full on the due date are automatically enrolled in the six-payment plan, Thompson said.
