Deadline set for P&S grants

Grant proposals from P&S employees for student recruitment/retention projects this year are due by 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17. Now in its fifth year, the program funds or partially funds programs or projects organized by P&S employees and aimed at attracting and retaining students.

The program is funded by a $25,000 allocation from President Martin Jischke. Grant recipients will be announced by Aug. 28.

Mariama Hodari, chair of the P&S committee that will review the proposals and award grants, said the selection committee especially is interested in proposals that involve collaboration across departments or units, and proposals that clearly outline how the program's impact and effectiveness will be assessed.

Hodari said the committee also will look for proposals that receive funding from the employees' home unit(s) or other sources.
