Johnson elected to Hungarian academy

Stan Johnson, vice provost for extension, has been elected an honorary member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. He was honored for developing large-scale economic models for analysis of trade, agriculture, environment, and food and nutrition policies. An economist, he was instrumental in establishing cooperative programs between ISU and leading Hungarian institutions, including the Budapest Economics University and Academy of Sciences.

Two years ago, Johnson was awarded an honorary doctorate by Debrecen Agricultural University in Hungary.
