School year to begin again with a concert

"A Concert on the Green," featuring the Cedar Rapids Symphony, will launch the new academic year on Monday, Aug. 24, the first day of classes. The concert will begin at 7 p.m. on central campus. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be held at Stephens Auditorium.

Selections will include "The Star-Spangled Banner" and theme music from 2001 Space Odyssey and Titanic.

Concert goers are invited to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets for seating and non-alcoholic refreshments.

The concert is sponsored by the President's Office and the Government of the Student Body.
