Grants help faculty emphasize entrepreneurship
Six course development grants have been awarded to faculty who are working this summer to develop or revise courses to emphasize entrepreneurship. The grants of $5,000 each were awarded recently by the ISU Pappajohn Center for Entrepreneurship to the following faculty:
David Bergland, electrical engineering;
Joseph Chen, industrial education and technology;
Kathi Kearney, curriculum and instruction;
Sridhar Ramaswami, marketing;
Marcy Schulte, architecture; and jointly,
Howard Van Auken, management, and Thomas Barta, industrial and manufacturing systems engineering.
United Way volunteers sought
Dean of Students Kathy MacKay is chair of the campus United Way campaign this year and has begun to seek volunteers.
MacKay said ISU employees are qualified to be campaign volunteers whether they are loyal givers to the fund or have never heard of it before.
"All that counts is that you believe in the mission of United Way and want to help support human service programs in your community," she said.
For more information or to volunteer, contact MacKay (kmackay@iastate.edu) or Ginger Olson (giraffe@iastate.edu), both in 230 Student Services, 4-1020.
