The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers recently elected Gerald Sheble, professor of electrical and computer engineering, a fellow. Sheble's research focuses on price-based markets for planning and operation for the electric and natural gas industries.
Cheuk-Yiu Ng, professor of chemistry at Ames Laboratory, has received a Humboldt Research Award for senior U.S. scientists from the Alexander Von Humboldt-Stiftung Institute, Bonn, Germany, for his research achievements. Ng was nominated for the award by two German scientists.
