Vet Med departments to be restructured
Restructuring at the College of Veterinary Medicine is expected to increase efficiency and allow faculty and staff to better meet needs of students, livestock producers, veterinarians and others.
The departments of veterinary anatomy, and veterinary physiology and pharmacology will merge to create a new department of biomedical sciences.
In addition, the production animal medicine and services section of veterinary extension, veterinary clinical sciences and the veterinary diagnostic laboratory will merge to create a new department of veterinary diagnostic and production animal medicine.
The restructuring plans were approved June 18 by the State Board of Regents.
