Big XII Fellowships

Proposals for the Big XII Faculty Fellowship Program, for projects to be carried out during the 1997-98 academic year, will be solicited early in the fall semester. Instructions for submitting a proposal are available on the Web at frm.html. The program pays direct expenses (up to a maximum of $2,500); it does not pay a stipend. Breakfast with Jischke

The next Conversation with President Martin Jischke will be a breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Friday, June 13, in the Memorial Union Gold Room. Coffee and tea are provided; breakfast may be brought in or purchased in the food court. For reservations, call 4-2042.

M-Shop performance

The Charlie Hunter Quartet will give one show in the Maintenance Shop, Memorial Union, at 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 11. Advance tickets ($9 general admission) may be purchased from 8 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday at the Memorial Union box office, or from any TicketMaster outlet. Summer day camp for teens

The Ames/ISU YMCA and the Boys and Girls Club of Ames are sponsoring a summer day camp for teens called T.R.A.P.S. (Teens Reacting, Advocating Personal Strength). Activities include peer discussions and fun in the outdoors. The first of four 2-week sessions begins Monday, June 16. The cost is $40 per session or $3.65 per day. Hoiberg will carry torch

Fred Hoiberg, former Cyclone basketball star who now plays professionally for the Indiana Pacers, will serve as the 1997 Iowa Games celebrity torch bearer. Hoiberg, a native of Ames, will attend Iowa Games' opening ceremony, which begins at 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1, in Jack Trice Stadium.
