Stadium press box project begins

Work has begun to construct a new press box and suites for fans at Cyclone Stadium/Jack Trice Field. Crews are dismantling the interior of the existing press box and foundation work for the three-level tower will begin soon.

The press box, to be built above the upper west stands, will be used by media and ISU's football game-day operations staff. In addition to the news media area, the $6.1 million project includes nine suites for football fans in the press tower and up to 15 more in the existing press area.

Accommodating from nine to 32 people, the suites are being marketed to Cyclone football fans. Revenue from the 10-year agreements with suite holders will fund construction.

The press box and suites are scheduled to be completed for the 1997 football season.
