ISU flu shots had full-strength vaccine

by Anne Dolan
Iowa State employees who received flu shots from Occupational Medicine on campus this fall received full-strength vaccinations.

The federal government announced earlier this week that about 6 percent of the flu vaccine distributed nationwide was not strong enough. The government advised high-risk groups, such as the elderly, people living in nursing homes and the chronically ill, to get a second flu shot.

Occupational Medicine officials said they did not receive any of the weaker lots, which came from one of four companies making the flu vaccine.
