Bousquet new enrollment assistant VP

David Bousquet, director of undergraduate admissions at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, will assume the newly created position of assistant vice president for enrollment at Iowa State on Monday, Aug. 26. He will coordinate the university's undergraduate recruitment efforts.

The offices of admissions, financial aid, campus visits and orientation, and special recruitment programs will report to Bousquet, who also will head the ISU Undergraduate Recruitment Coordinating Council. Bousquet will report to Tom Thielen, vice president for student affairs.

"We have already made improvements in our student recruitment operations, and we will benefit from David Bousquet's experience and perspective in reaching our next goals," Thielen said.

Bousquet has been director of undergraduate admissions at Virginia Tech since 1986. While serving as admissions officer at Virginia Tech, Bousquet provided the leadership in a transition that merged four offices into an integrated enrollment services operation. Prior to Virginia Tech, Bousquet spent more than eight years in student services positions at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Bousquet earned a B.A. in sociology and an M.Ed. in higher education administration from the University of Massachusetts.
