Retirements
SHIRLEY SHAW
A retirement reception for Shirley Shaw, assistant professor
of human development and family studies, will be held from
3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Friday, April 26, in the new LeBaron Hall
lounge. Shaw has been with the university more than 25
years.
PEGGY MEEK
A retirement reception for Peggy Meek, secretary in the
department of chemical engineering, will be held from 3 to 5
p.m. Monday, April 29, in the Memorial Union Campanile Room.
Meek has been with the department since 1986.
LEO PETERS
A retirement reception for Leo C. Peters, professor of
mechanical engineering, will be held from 2 to 4 p.m.
Tuesday, April 30, in the Memorial Union Oak Room. Peters has
been with the university for 35 years.
WILMA CONARD
A retirement reception for Wilma Conard, parking division
coordinator in the department of public safety, will be held
from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, in 27 Armory. Conard has
worked for Iowa State for 25 years.
JAMES PRESCOTT
A retirement reception for James Prescott, emeritus
professor of economics, will be held from 3 to 5 p.m.(program
begins at 3:15 p.m.) Tuesday, April 30, in the Memorial Union
Campanile Room.
JACK WHITMER
A retirement reception for Jack Whitmer, associate professor
of political science, will be held from 3 to 5:30 p.m.
Tuesday, April 30, in the Memorial Union Gallery. Whitmer has
been with the university for 30 years.
ROBERTA ABRAHAM
A retirement reception for Roberta Abraham, professor of
English, will be held from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 1,
in 212 Ross. Abraham has been with the university since
1973.
RICHARD HEGGEN
A retirement reception for Richard Heggen, distinguished
professor of art and design, will be held from 4 to 5 p.m.
Thursday, May 2, in the College of Design atrium. Heggen
joined the faculty in 1966.
PHILIP ALLEN
A retirement reception for Philip Allen, professor of art
and design, will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday, May 2, in
the College of Design atrium. Allen joined the faculty in
1967.
JOHN RILEY
A retirement dinner for John N. Riley, professor of
industrial education and technology, will be held at 6:30
p.m. Saturday, May 4, in the Memorial Union Campanile Room.
He has been with the university 24 years. Dinner tickets are
$15. Send checks (payable to the department) for the dinner
or a gift contribution and letters of appreciation to Sylvia
Anderson, department of industrial education and technology,
114 Industrial Education II, by April 24. For information,
call 4-1033.
DON SPRAGUE
A retirement reception for Don Sprague, Channel 9 studio
supervisor, will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, in
the Memorial Union Campanile Room. Sprague has been with Iowa
State since 1958.
STEPHEN MARLEY
A retirement reception for Stephen Marley, professor of
agricultural and biosystems engineering, will be held from
2 to 4:30 p.m. Monday, May 13, in the Memorial Union Sun
Room. Marley has been with the department 35 years.
JOHN SJOBLOM
A retirement reception for John Sjoblom, registrar, will be
held from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, in the Memorial Union
Campanile Room. He has been with the university since 1967.
