Inside Iowa State Oct. 13, 1995 ______________ Feedback Following are more comments on the Succeeding With Students learning exercise by those who participated in "test runs" of the exercise: "There are pluses and minuses. It's a lot of time and money plus I expect it's costing a couple hundred thousand dollars to develop. I didn't learn a lot of new information, but it was nice to see a lot of the information together. If the notion is we're all supposed to tie together as one big team, this might be a start." - Carl Mize, associate professor, forestry "It was fun. We talked a lot about life-long learning, people changing careers five to eight times, the huge audience for adult learners and what Iowa State could do to be competitive and provide educational opportunities for people changing careers. I was appalled about how little I knew about where funds come from and how they are spent." - Linda Hutchison, manager, Computation Center "It addresses some very important issues. Frequently, while we may know pieces of the pie, we don't really get the whole thing put together. I found it interesting to see how different groups view some of the same issues. As we talk about a coordinated institutional approach, we each have to understand where others are coming from, how they view the problems and solutions." - Paul Lasley, professor, sociology __________ University Relations Iowa State University
