Group Named To Set Computer Pace At ISU A newly appointed committee will help the university work toward one of the goals in the strategic plan: to establish international leadership in the integration and effective use of information technology and computation services. The new committee grew out of work by the Information and Technology Planning Subcommittee, formed during the year-long strategic planning process. Provost John Kozak, who chairs the new committee, said the subcommittee members felt their efforts should be continued after the strategic plan was written. "The University Computing and Networking Committee has been charged with determining where we are, where we want to be, and then what is needed to get us there. It will attempt to envision the future of computing, communications and networking over the next 18 months to five years," Kozak said. The committee includes members of the Information and Technology Planning Subcommittee, in addition to members of the staff and faculty who have an abiding interest in computing and networking across the campus. Committees members are: Dean Anderson, Jim Bernard, Jim Corones, Arnie Cowan, Andy DePristo, Warren Dolphin, Nancy Eaton, Gene Freeman, David Graf, Elizabeth Hoffman, David Hopper, Toni Johnson, John Kingland, Kozak, Dorothy Lewis, David Martin, Wayne Ostendorf, Diana Pounds, Ellen Rasmussen, Don Rieck, Phil Spike, Mary Winter and Barbara Woods. _____ contact: Internal Communications, (515) 294-3129 updated: 9-29-95
