$25,000 In Gifts, Pledges Fund Ringgenberg Award by Anne Dolan Fortified with $25,000 in gifts and pledges from more than 160 donors, the Carroll Ringgenberg Award became official at a Sept. 7 luncheon. Philosophy professor Richard Van Iten, chair of the award planning committee, presented President Martin Jischke with a check for $25,000 representing the Ringgenberg endowment fund. Special guests included Carolyn Ringgenberg, a secretary with the ISU Alumni Association and Ringgenberg's widow; and their two sons, Curt and Jason, both of the Kansas City area. Beginning next spring, a P&S employee who embodies traits his friends and colleagues remember in Ringgenberg -- dedication, goodwill, humor and service to others -- will receive the award and a $1,000 cash award. Nomination forms are available now for the Ringgenberg award, as well as other service awards for P&S employees. Nominations are due by Dec. 15 to the P&S Council office, 103 Lab of Mechanics. The P&S Representation and Awards Committee will review all nominations for the Ringgenberg award and recommend three to five finalists to Warren Madden, vice president for business and finance. Madden will make the final selection and the winner will be recognized each year at the spring awards convocation. _____ contact: Anne Dolan, Internal Communications, (515) 294-7065 updated: 9-15-95
