Several Offices Will Open Saturday to Help Students by Steve Sullivan To help students with questions at the beginning of the new academic year, several Iowa State offices will be open Saturday, Aug. 19, and a help center will be available on Monday, Aug. 21. The ISU Help Center will be open on the first day of classes from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Memorial Union Campanile Room. The help center will be staffed by ISU personnel who will help students with problems or refer them to the campus offices that can help. At the help center, students can find help on such issues as getting admitted, registration, class scheduling, on- and off-campus housing, financial aid, taking care of unpaid bills, parking, getting around campus, computer and telephone hook-ups and buying books. SATURDAY HELP Offices open to assist students from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday are: --Admissions, Alumni Hall; --Dean of Students, Student Services Building; --International Students and Scholars, 4 Hamilton; --Minority Student Affairs, 301 Beardshear; --Off-Campus Center, 59 Memorial Union; --Orientation and Retention, 314 Alumni; --Registrar, Alumni Hall; --Student Counseling Services, Student Services Building; --Student Health Center, Student Services Building (after- hours care available until 10 p.m.); --Student Organizations and Activities, 64 Memorial Union; and --Telecommunications, 271 Durham. Offices open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. are: --Parking, 27 Armory; --Residence, 1215 Friley; --Student Financial Aid, 12 Beardshear; and --Treasurer/Receivables, 122 Beardshear. Open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. are: --Richardson Court Area, C2115 Maple-Willow-Larch; --Towers Residence Area, C1265 Wallace-Wilson; --Union Drive Area, 2419 Friley; --University Village, 100 University Village Office; --Food Service Offices: Friley, Knapp-Storms, Oak and Maple- Willow-Larch complex offices. The University Book Store will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ISU recreation facilities also will be open Saturday.
