Summer Commencement Ceremony is Aug. 5 Nearly 800 students will be awarded degrees Saturday, Aug. 5, at Iowa State's summer commencement ceremony. Commencement will begin at 9:30 a.m. in Hilton Coliseum, with President Martin Jischke presiding over the ceremony. George Burnet, professor emeritus of engineering, will give the commencement address. His talk is titled, "Your World is Your Doorstep." Approximately 450 undergraduate degrees, 250 masters' and 100 Ph.D.s will be awarded during the ceremony. One commencement ceremony is held in the summer for both graduate and undergraduate students.
