Forum Focuses On Higher Education Trends Scholars and industry professionals from fields as varied as communications, sociology, law and agronomy will discuss trends and issues and their implications for higher education during a week-long forum sponsored by the department of agricultural education and studies. "Visioning the Future" will be held March 27-31 in the Memorial Union Pioneer Room. Members of the university community may attend any or all sessions. No registration is required. Although the project is supported by the Kellogg Foundation and the titles sound similar, "Visioning the Future" is not a component of Iowa State's VISION 2020 project. Alan Kahler, professor of agricultural education and studies, said speakers will be of interest to various groups because they will discuss trends in their own fields and what those trends mean for higher education, especially graduate programs. He said listening teams of ISU faculty and graduate students at each session will glean from presenters ideas for what the ag education department can do to strengthen its graduate program for the future. During the last day of the forum, listening teams will hold discussions and draft recommendations to the ag education faculty. _____ Contact: News Service, (515) 294-0549 updated: 03-24-95
