Homecoming 2011 kicks off this weekend

Break out your cardinal and gold apparel, find 5 bucks to buy a button for the noon lunches and take a stroll through Campustown to admire the creatively painted storefronts. In other words, show your Cyclone pride and participate in Iowa State's 2011 homecoming festivities, Oct. 16-22.

This year's theme, "Cyclone State of Mind," will be reflected in many of the traditional homecoming activities, including the Yell-Like-Hell competition, Victory Lane painting and lawn displays. But students and alums won't have all the fun. There are plenty of events for faculty and staff, too. A complete homecoming schedule is online, but here are some highlights. Events are free unless indicated.
