Ideas for Campustown redevelopment sought at June 17 meeting

As part of the Ames City Council's long-term goal to rejuvenate Campustown, members of the university and Ames communities are invited to a public input session to share thoughts and ideas about redevelopment of the area south of the Iowa State campus.

A town hall meeting will be held Thursday, June 17, from 6 to 8 p.m., in the ISU Memorial Union South Ballroom.

Representatives of Kansas City, Mo.-based LANE4 Property Group, the master developer recently selected to partner with the City of Ames and Iowa State, will lead the session. Information gathered at the meeting will aid LANE4 in creating a development concept for Campustown.

After an anticipated six months of study, the Ames officials may choose to enter into a memorandum of understanding -- a contract to move the development forward -- with LANE4.
