Jazzed upTo mark the 70th anniversary of the premiere jazz label, New York City-based Blue Note Records, an all-star tribute band is touring the world, including a stop at Stephens Friday, March 27. Show time is 7:30 p.m., and tickets are available through Ticketmaster and the Stephens ticket office. The band is made up of (l-r): tenor saxophonist Ravi Coltrane, drummer Lewis Nash, pianist Bill Charlap, guitarist Peter Bernstein, trumpeter Nicholas Payton, bassist Peter Washington, and alto saxophonist/flutist Steve Wilson. As the tour got under way in January, Blue Note Records released an eight-song collection by the group, Mosaic: A Celebration of Blue Note Records. Submitted photo by Jimmy Katz. |
