Window wonderland

Replacing and retrimming all the windows in Marston Hall has been a multi-month effort, but the work is nearing an end. A total of 207 custom windows were installed, including this massive 108-by-117-inch arched window above the east doors. The project cost is just under $700,000, and is part of a bond issue approved in FY08 by the Legislature for deferred maintenance and fire safety projects. The windows have aluminum-clad exteriors and wood interiors and contain insulated glass. They also have screens -- a first for the 106-year-old building.
