Campus roads update

Pammel reopens soon

If the weather cooperates for construction crews, Pammel Drive will be reopened for two-lane traffic by Aug. 21. By Aug. 24, Pammel is expected to be back to normal, with all four lanes open for business.

Pammel has been closed in the vicinity of the Armory for much of the summer while construction crews built a new underground utility corridor (steam, chilled water, domestic water, natural gas). The work improves the campus infrastructure for future growth on the northwest side of campus.

That growth already is under way. Construction began this summer on the Hach Hall chemistry facility, which will go up north of Davidson Hall.

WOI Road opens Aug. 21

WOI Road, which intersects the west end of Pammel, is scheduled to reopen Aug. 21.

Part of Osborn Drive to close this fall

The same underground utility work that closed Pammel will close a portion of Osborn Drive this fall. The west section of the road (between the Armory and Davidson Hall) is scheduled be be closed from Oct. 1 to Dec. 1. Osborn will remain open east of the Davidson Hall area.

Parking Lots 22, 23, 24, 25

The construction works also affects several parking lots in the area.

  • Lot 22, north of the Armory, will be closed in 2010, June through August.
  • Lot 23, between the Armory and Davidson, is closed through June 2010.
  • Lot 24, north of Davidson and part of the Hach Hall site, is closed permanently.
  • Lot 25, west of Spedding, will be closed from late September 2008 through April 2009.
