Discrimination, harassment policy sessions this summer

All university employees and graduate students are encouraged to attend training on the University's Discrimination and Harassment Policy this summer. Session schedule.

Award nominations sought

The ISU Alumni Association seeks nominations for the university's Distinguished Alumni Award and Honorary Alumni Award. The nomination deadline for both awards is Aug. 1. Award descriptions, criteria and nomination materials are online.

Benefit for Dan Whipple is June 30

A benefit for Dan Whipple, former carpenter in facilities planning and management, will be held Saturday, June 30, at Roland's American Legion Club. Whipple has been diagnosed with Multiple Systems Atrophy, an adult-onset disorder affecting many areas of the brain. Activities include: roasted hog dinner (5-7 p.m., free will donation), silent auction (5-9 p.m.) and karaoke (8:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m.). National candidate events set

Iowa State, Iowa Farm Bureau Federation and the Iowa State Education Association will sponsor a nationally telecast debate for Republican presidential candidates Nov. 6. The group also will host a forum for Democratic presidential candidates Nov. 5. Both events are at Stephens. More information.

Art fair at Reiman Gardens July 8

The Garden Art Fair at Reiman Gardens is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 8. Admission is free, giving the public the opportunity to browse the works of more than 40 artists in watercolor, painting, jewelry, silk fabrics, glass and metal sculpture, pottery, photography and others. While at the fair, enjoy the gardens' celebration of the university's 150-year anniversary, including the Garden Railroad Display, Cyclone Garden, Zodiac Garden, Home Grown Garden and Bio-fuels walk.
