Automated External Defibrillator policy draft

The university is seeking comment on the draft of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) policy. The goal of an AED program is to increase the rate of survival of people who have sudden cardiac arrests. The AED policy and related procedures will set forth the standards and responsibilities for the installation, modification, replacement, repair, inspection, maintenance and non-medical response of AEDs on the ISU campus. Submit comments regarding the AED policy draft by June 22 to aedpolicy@iastate.edu.

Surplus sale has moved

ISU Surplus has moved to the university's recently purchased warehouse east of the research park and off of Airport Road, at 1102 Southern Hills Dr. (behind Sevde storage units). Sale days and times remain the same.

Dance camp for youths is June 11-15

ISU's dance program is hosting a dance workshop for students 6 years and older from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, June 11-15, in the Forker Building. The workshop concludes with a performance at 2:30 p.m. June 15. The emphasis is on dance for fitness and fun. Each class is $2; enroll for one to five days. Orientation session for canine conditioning rescheduled for June 16

An orientation session for a summer/fall conditioning program for dogs offered by ISU's Veterinary Teaching Hospital will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 16, in 2532 Vet Med. (This is a rescheduled date from May 19). Dog owners commit to regular walks for their pets, some group walks and regular weight checks at the Vet Med campus. Enrollment costs $10. Summary

Advisers of the year

The University Academic Advising Committee has announced the recipients of the 2006-07 Adviser of the Year awards. Each college at Iowa State selects a College Adviser of the Year. In addition, the Office of the Provost selects two University Advisers of the Year. A display will honor the recipients on the MU ground floor during June. They also are honored online.
