Sesqui logo at Alumni Hall

With Iowa State's sesquicentennial celebration well under way, perhaps you've noticed the 150th logo appearing in lots of places ... the doors of campus facilities trucks, napkins in ISU Dining locales, the current Elwood Drive light post banners ... and gracing the south slope in front of Alumni Hall (pictured).

Campus services converted a piece of turf to dirt and lined it with pavers. Chase Signs, Ames, fabricated the sign. Ames Resource Recovery Center donated 1,600 pounds of glass chips and Becker Underwood, Ames, donated the dye and staining process. Campus services manager Les Lawson said initially the plan was to dedicate a flower bed to the logo, but when the logo was unveiled, they knew it was "too fussy" to recreate with flowers. It was installed as part of Veishea 2007's community service day on March 31, and will remain in the ground through the sesquicentennial celebration.
