Is ISU a great place to work?

From Feb. 23 through March 9, the Provost Office will ask the entire Iowa State University community to participate in a survey, online via AccessPlus, about life at the university.

The survey's 20 questions are intended to gather input on whether "the university is a great place to learn and work" -- priority No. 5 in Iowa State's 2005-10 strategic plan. Quality of university life includes things such as an environment that nurtures diverse people and ideas, balance between work and personal life for all, maintaining and improving facilities, availability of extracurricular activities, commitment to environmental quality and resource conservation, or a successful intercollegiate athletics program of high integrity.

Results of the survey will be used "to gauge how we're doing" and to guide future planning, said Melanie Smith, program coordinator in the Provost Office. She said survey results will be shared with the Board of Regents, State of Iowa, as part of an annual update on the university's progress on the strategic plan. Results also will be available to the university community.

To complete the survey, log in to AccessPlus and click on "Employee," then "Votes and Surveys."
