SummaryLittle (Cyclone) lambsScott Smalley, graduate assistant in animal science, oversees lambing season at the ISU sheep teaching farm on State Avenue in south Ames. This set of twins is just over two hours old. Nearly half of the 140 ewes have lambed, beginning with the first set of twins born Dec. 20. Over 100 lambs -- most of them twins -- have joined the flock, but more are expected through March 1. Smalley says the recent weather pattern has kept his crew of three undergraduates busy, as births increase with temperature and pressure changes. Photo by Bob Elbert.
