by Annette Hacker, News Service

Nancy Levandowski, a California-based consultant, has been named director of ISU Dining. Levandowski will begin her new position in November.

Previously, Levandowski was a resident district manager for Aramark, an international food service company. She served 13 accounts in the Pacific Northwest, including the University of California, Irvine, during a period of significant growth from 2003 to 2005. Levandowski also served as director of dining services for the Cal Poly Pomona Foundation, Pomona, Calif., from 1995 to 2003.

"Nancy's philosophy and outlook fit very well with the vision we have for dining services at Iowa State," said vice president for student affairs Tom Hill. "She is excited about joining ISU Dining, working with the great staff we have in place, and living in Ames."

Levandowski was a regional vice president of the National Association of College and University Food Services from 2001 to 2003. She received a bachelor's degree in psychology from Santa Clara University, California, in 1981.

Former ISU Dining director Jon Lewis left Iowa State last fall. Associate vice president for student affairs Todd Holcomb has been serving as interim director.

Global Hospitality, Los Angeles, assisted an ISU campus selection committee with the national search.
