'Town Hall' meeting is Oct. 23

Faculty and staff are invited to a "town hall" meeting Monday, Oct. 23, hosted by President Gregory Geoffroy. The topic is current work and future opportunities at Iowa State in the area of biorenewable (plant-based) products and fuels. The gathering will be from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Howe Hall auditorium (any overflow crowd will be accommodated in the Howe downstairs atrium).

Geoffroy said the meeting is an opportunity for members of the campus community to learn more about ISU efforts and ask questions. Iowa State, he said, is as well positioned as any university in the world to be a major player in this area.

Geoffroy will present a general overview and outline several big opportunities coming up, the key initiatives the university is pursuing, and plans for the future. Faculty experts and Geoffroy will field questions from the audience.

A reception will follow the meeting.
