Nominees sought for executive vice president and provost

The committee searching for an executive vice president and provost is seeking nominations for the position.

"The search committee's focus over the next few weeks is to identify excellent candidates for this extremely important position," said Tahira Hira, search committee chair and assistant to the president for external relations and executive administration. "We hope members of the campus community will help by submitting nominees."

The Atlanta search firm of Baker Parker and Associates is assisting with the search and will collect the nominations. Send nominees' names either to Tahira Hira, 1750 Beardshear, tkhira@iastate.edu or to:

Iowa State's 18-member search committee began work in late May. President Gregory Geoffroy's goal is to name the new executive vice president and provost before Thanksgiving.

Susan Carlson, associate provost for faculty advancement and diversity and professor of English, will serve as interim vice president for academic affairs and provost until the new position is filled.

She succeeds Benjamin Allen who will leave Iowa State at the end of May to become president of the University of Northern Iowa.
