March 31, 2006 Hilton is site for regional meetIowa State will host the women's gymnastics North Central Regional Championships Saturday, April 8, one of six regional competition sites that weekend. The meet begins at 6 p.m. at Hilton Coliseum. Six teams will compete, including the No. 4-ranked Cyclones. Other teams are: Arizona State, Arizona, Denver, Minnesota and Brigham Young. "Being at Hilton is a huge advantage," said head coach K.J. Kindler, who has led the Cyclones to the regional competition in each of her six seasons at ISU. The team has been undefeated three years running in Hilton. "Certainly, it's our goal to come out in the top two," Kindler said. The top two teams in each regional go on to the NCAA championships, which will be hosted April 20-22 by Oregon State University, Corvallis. Tickets are $10 for adults ($5 for youth and ISU students), and available from the athletics tickets office in the Jacobson Building, online or by calling 1-888-ISU-CYCLONE. |
