Show and tell, honors style

Andrea LeClere, a senior in genetics from Cedar Rapids, explains her turtle gene research to Jami Larson (left), Ames Economic Development Commission; and Mark MacDonald, CombiSep Inc., during "Research in the Capitol" Feb. 28 in the state capitol rotunda. The event was sponsored by the honors departments at Iowa State, the University of Iowa and the University of Northern Iowa; 10 undergraduates from each school participated. Subjects of the research ranged from chemistry to agriculture to aerospace engineering. The students who conducted the research presented summaries and responded to questions. Photo by Bob Elbert.
