Cyclone football team will play in Houston New Year's Eve

As announced Dec. 4, the Iowa State football team has accepted an invitation to play in the EV1.net Houston Bowl Dec. 31 at Reliant Stadium in Houston. The 7-4 Cyclones will face Mountain West Conference champion and No. 14 Texas Christian University (10-1). Game time is 1:30 p.m.

The ISU Alumni Association is coordinating the official fan travel package. Air or ground travel packages will be offered through Dodds Athletic Tours. Both packages will include three nights' lodging at either the JW Marriott or Westin Oaks in Houston. Details are available on the ISU Alumni Association's bowl Web site, http://www.isualum.org/bowl. Staff from the alumni association and athletics department are planning special events at the Houston Bowl, including a Cyclone welcome reception, pre-game pep rally, spirit rally and New Year's Eve party. Details about these events will be posted online at the alumni association's bowl Web site as they become available.
