In other business, the senate received the following requests to add to the curriculum:

  • A master of science degree in seed technology and business in the colleges of Agriculture and Business. The curriculum would be delivered through distance education technology and target young professionals in management positions in the seed business.
  • A master of fine arts in creative writing and environment. It would be housed in the English department but be interdisciplinary.
  • A digital media minor in the College and Design (also interdisciplinary). It would cover the knowledge and techniques for using digital representations to generate design and art.

Summary

The Faculty Senate endorsed and forwarded to the provost a proposal to rename the department of foreign languages and literatures to the department of world languages and cultures.
