Buy now for 2005-06 Season at Stephens

Brochures for the 2005-06 Season at Stephens have been mailed to ISU faculty and staff. Subscribers (those who buy tickets for three or more shows) receive a 15 percent discount. Other benefits include priority seating and the option to pay via ISU payroll deduction. Tickets go on sale to the general public July 1. The ticket office, in Stephens Auditorium, is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Friday. The season also is online at http://www.center.iastate.edu. Call 4-3347 or 4-2479 for more information.

MU ramp work under way

A 6-month, phased project to repair concrete columns and flooring and replace steel support cables in the Memorial Union parking ramp began this week. The ramp will remain open, but jackhammer noise and concrete dust will be present. Entrance and exit routes will not change. Signs and plywood barricades will direct drivers to available parking areas. The work is scheduled to conclude by mid-November.

University image summit is June 2

Faculty and staff who create communications for their units are invited to the University Image Summit June 2 (8:30 a.m.-noon, Howe Hall auditorium). Topics include how to use the university's visual identity system, an update on university messages for key audiences, and "how-to" presentations on award-winning projects. Story Time with ISU's Chuck Richards

Chuck Richards, ISU art and design, is the guest at a free Story Time at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 21, in the University Book Store, Memorial Union. Richards illustrated a children's book being released this month, "Author Day for Room 3T." Treats will be served.

Breakfast with the author

Author Mark Svenvold, whose "Big Weather: Chasing Tornadoes in the Heart of America" was published this month, will talk about writing the book during a "breakfast with the author" at 10 a.m. Monday, May 23, in the Memorial Union Pine Room, hosted by the University Book Store. Light breakfast will be served.

University holiday

University offices will be closed Monday, May 30, in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.
