How much?Jessica Haxhi (left) plays shopkeeper in a simulated language exercise with local first graders and kindergartners during a 7-day Japanese program earlier this month at the Child Development Lab School. Haxhi teaches Japanese to elementary students in Waterbury, Conn. The class also served as a demonstration of language teaching strategies for about 20 foreign language teachers from around the country participating in a summer institute at the National K-12 Foreign Language Resource Center, College of Education.
