Nutrition lecture series set

Meeting future global food needs is the focus of a five-part lecture series (June 28-July 2) sponsored by the Nutritional Sciences Council and the Center for Designing Foods to Improve Nutrition. Iowa native Norman Borlaug, currently a faculty member at Texas A&M University, is among the guest lecturers. The lectures will be held from 10 a.m. to noon daily in 1352 Gilman. All are welcome; graduate students are encouraged to register for one credit. A public wine and cheese reception to honor the five lecturers will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. June 30 in the LeBaron lounge and courtyard. Single game football tickets

Home single game football tickets (except for Nebraska game) may be purchased online, by phone or the athletic ticket office. Nebraska single game tickets, if available, will go on sale later this summer. Season tickets ($99 and $199) include tickets to the Nov. 6 Nebraska game. Chemistry Stores closed

Chemistry Stores in Gilman Hall will be closed for inventory Monday and Tuesday, June 14-15. Dry ice and liquid nitrogen will be available both days from 9:30 to 10 a.m. and 12:30 to 1 p.m.

Appointments

  • Douglas Epperson, professor of psychology, to LAS associate dean of administration.
  • David Oliver, professor of genetics, development and cell biology, to LAS associate dean of research.

The following people have been appointed to one-year internships through the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost Office's administrative intern program:

  • Rhonda Christensen, county extension education director (Buena Vista County), to the Office of the Vice Provost for Extension.
  • Kristen Constant, associate professor of materials science and engineering, to the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost.
  • Donna Kienzler, associate professor, English, to the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
  • Deland Myers, professor of food science and human nutrition, to the College of Agriculture.

Summer Session

The second summer session begins Monday, June 14.
