New online: The Policy Library
The new online Policy Library (http://policy.iastate.edu) provides easy access to the most important university-wide policies. The site features a comprehensive search of university-wide policies, manuals and handbooks.

Geoffroy, Fehr on Talk of Iowa
ISU biotechnology director and Distinguished Professor (agronomy) Walt Fehr will join President Gregory Geoffroy during the 9 a.m. hour on Talk of Iowa on Thursday, May 20. The live, call-in program airs locally on WOI-AM (640).

Inside on Web only
Due to budget cuts, Inside Iowa State will be available in Web form only on May 21, July 2, July 23 and Aug. 13. The June 11 issue will be available in a print version.The Web version of Inside may be read at http://www.inside.iastate.edu.

9-, 10-month pay options
Tenured, tenure-track and adjunct faculty on 9-month, B-base appointments, and 9- and 10-month P&S employees may enroll in the 12-month pay plan for the fiscal year that begins July 1. Both groups also may change back to the 9-month plan. Forms are due in 3608 ASB by 5 p.m. July 9. Forms are available from the payroll office, 4-6556, or online at http://www.ats.iastate.edu/vpbf/payroll/forms.htm.

Regents OK Knapp Hall plan
At its April 21 meeting, the Board of Regents, State of Iowa, approved "abandonment" of Knapp residence hall, in preparation for demolition next summer (2005). Storms Hall already is approved for demolition next summer. Knapp closed in December, but will be used by conference guests in July. Knapp and Storm halls are the north two buildings of the "Towers" residence halls.

Archive historical documents
University Archives, Parks Library, welcomes historically valuable records, papers and three-dimensional artifacts that document development of the university. Archives staff also can help determine how long records need to be kept. New parking permit fees set
Parking permit fees for the year that begins July 1 have been approved by the Board of Regents, State of Iowa. ISU employee permit rates include: general staff $104, reserved $370, 24-hour reserved $665, departmental $104, motorcycle $35.

Lavender graduation
The seventh annual Lavender Graduation will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, May 6, in the Memorial Union Campanile Room. Graduating members of the Iowa State lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities are recognized. Sharon Bird, sociology and women's studies, will give the keynote address; Marcia Purdy, who is graduating in women's studies next month, will give the student talk. All are welcome. Refreshments will be served.

Faculty honored
Six faculty members have been awarded the titles of Distinguished Professor or University Professor at Iowa State. They are: Diane Birt, Mary B. Welch Distinguished Professor in Family and Consumer Sciences; Susan Lamont, Charles F. Curtiss Distinguished Professor in Agriculture; Vijay Vittal, Anson Marston Distinguished Professor in Engineering; Brenda Daly, University Professor, English; Larry Ebbers, University Professor, higher education, department of educational leadership and policy studies; and George Kraus, University Professor, chemistry.
