Animal care training for researchers set for Nov. 21

A one-day training program for faculty and staff who use animals in research
will be hosted by Iowa State Nov. 21. The Institutional Animal Care and Use
Committee's program will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Starlite Village
Quality Inn and Suites in Ames. Registration fee is $80. Representatives of
USDA and the Office of Laboratory Animal Welfare, National Institutes of
Health, will teach the program. The course is designed to benefit new
faculty and to serve as a refresher for more experienced researchers.
Attendees will receive relevant information on the federal laws,
regulations, policies and standards governing the care and use of animals.
