Sweet shoes

"Chews," slippers made of chewing gum and wrappers by sophomore Sara Weitzel of Iowa State, is one of 62 works selected for Iowa College Salon XXIII, on exhibit at the Brunnier Art Museum through April 21. This year, 156 art majors from Iowa's four-year colleges and universities submitted 640 entries to the juried competition. Amalia Amaki, University of Delaware, was the juror. The Brunnier's hours are 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday-Friday, 5-9 p.m. Thursday and 1-4 p.m. Saturday-Sunday. Photo by Bob Elbert.
